The wait is almost over as Ferrari->ke252 teases us once again about their new car debuting tomorrow. The swooping line drawing above shows a few promenade features that all but promise us a new California.

Adding to the suggestion is Ferrari’s codename for the upcoming car: 149M. Like we said before, that codename is awful close to the California’s chassis code of F149 and in previous Ferrari updates, they’ve tacked on an M to chassis codes to represent “Modified.”

We’ve already reported this “modified” version of the California is said to be powered by a new twin-turbo, 3.8-liter V-8 making 560 horsepower. Outward appearances will change too, with a more F12-inspired look, including a more aggressive grille and headlights that recall something between an F12->ke4223 and FF->ke3753. The F12 look will continue out back as the rear fascia is said to share many of its characteristics.

The California’s new interior is also getting a healthy update in the infotainment department with rumors of Apple’s iOS In The Car making its appearance. Other changes to the cockpit will likely be rather dramatic, as Ferrari revamps one of its most popular (and least expensive) supercars->ke177 for the last half of this decade.

Stay tuned to TopSpeed as we’ll bring you all the nitty-gritty information from Ferrari as soon as it becomes available.

Ferrari California

The current California is itself not too old from a refresh in 2012. The car was upgraded with a handling Speciale package that added 30 horsepower and subtracted a healthy 66 pounds from its curb weight.

Power came from a 4.3-liter V-8 that, after the 2012 upgrade, made 490 horsepower. Those prancing ponies were able to push the California from 0 to 60 in just 3.8 seconds towards a top speed of 193 mph.
