For a few weeks now we’ve heard tons of rumors regarding Ferrari’s surprise model for the Geneva Motor Show, and we expect to hear a lot more until the officially unveiling. Today’s rumors suggest that the Italian brand will come to Geneva with a shooting brake concept based on the 612 Scaglietti, a preview version of their first ever estate model. Although there is no name for this new model, Ferrari has announced that it has been created for two reasons: to see how far Ferrari can stretch its brand away from its traditional supercars, and to give the 612 Scaglietti a fitting send-off as the four-seat super coupé, launched in 2004, nears the end of its run. "We know there can never be a Ferrari SUV," one source insisted. "But we would like to find out what we can put the marque’s DNA into and still have it accepted as a Ferrari." Something tells us that, when push comes to shove, Ferrari will find themselves in the SUV business just like Porsche did with their Cayenne model because, well, money talks. However, the focus for the time being will be this new shooting brake concept, which ties in just fine with the previous rumors of Ferrari bringing the successor for the 612 Scaglietti to Geneva. We’ll see if this rumor holds water when the Geneva Show doors open on March 3rd. .

 Hope its better than rendering. Anyways, Ferrari shooting brakes is always ugly especially those in 612!
 i love it the car is so sexy with that layout. for sure many will like it rather than the Ferrari Italia.
 yeah right you can compare this shooting brake to a lady, the more sexy it is, the more man wanted to have it.
 wow it looks great in shoting brake layout. but if you notice.. shooting brake and hatch is almost the same.
 I don’t like but I love it specially the rear end of the car. imagine a sexy model in front of you with perfect booty shape what will you do? of course for me I’ll take a sit on her.
 The shooting brake is essentially a hatchback-based coupe. The design offers greater versatility for low slung two-doors and would make the four-seater 612 Scaglietti the most practical Ferrari yet.
 Perhaps Ferrari will be testing the waters with the design, providing a glimpse of a possible design direction for the 612’s replacement and a solution for customers demanding a more practical supercar.
