As pretty much no surprise to anyone, the first retail 2015 Ford Mustang will be auctioned for charity at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona on January 18, 2014. All the proceeds will go to JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) -- the country’s leading global organization funding type-one diabetes research.

The Mustang crossing the block will be a GT->ke428 model, and it will feature a V-8 engine with an output of "at least" 420 horsepower and 390 pound-feet of torque. The car features all-new front and rear suspension systems, more precise steering control and enhanced ride comfort.

During the auction, Ford->ke31 will also offer its fans the chance to ride in and drive its best models in the 2014 lineup and its resident performance models, like the Shelby GT500, Focus ST and Fiesta ST.

Visitors will also have the chance to see the special Mustang GT500 developed for the new "Need for Speed" movie, which is set to arrive in theaters on March 14, 2014.
