First Cosworth Impreza STI CS400 delivered

When Cosworth unveiled the Impreza STI CS400 , they announced only 75 customers will have the chance to drive one. First customer is already enjoying his CS400. His name is Edwards and comes from Chipping Camden, Gloucestershire and paid £49,995 for it.

The car will deliver an impressive 400PS (395 hp) at 5750rpm and will make the 0 to 60 mph sprint in 3.7 seconds. This is an impressive task compared to the standard Impreza WRX STI at 300PS / 296bhp at 6,000rpm with a 5.2 second sprint.

"As a huge Impreza fan I’m thrilled to be the first to take delivery of the ultimate incarnation of the model line," enthused Edwards. "The CS400 is everything I’d hoped it’d be and more. The performance is simply astounding and to know I’m one of just 75 people in the world to own one… well, it’s a very special feeling."

It’s now a case of life in the fast lane for Mark Edwards – the first of just 75 people to take delivery of their Cosworth Impreza STI CS400.

Edwards, from Chipping Camden, Gloucestershire, took his place in automotive history when he collected the keys to his brand new and highly exclusive performance machine from his local Subaru dealer, Cross Roads, in Tredington.

The All-Wheel Drive machine boasts an impressive 400PS (395bhp) at 5,750rpm, sufficient to dispatch the 0-62mph sprint in just 3.7 seconds. Other refinements include a bespoke brake package – with six-pot callipers – developed in partnership with AP Racing, giving the car prodigious stopping power. A wide range of further upgrades have also been made to the suspension, exhaust and to the donor Impreza’s exterior and interior styling.

“As a huge Impreza fan I’m thrilled to be the first to take delivery of the ultimate incarnation of the model line,” enthused Edwards. “The CS400 is everything I’d hoped it’d be and more. The performance is simply astounding and to know I’m one of just 75 people in the world to own one… well, it’s a very special feeling.”

Subaru UK Marketing Director, Kenyon Neads, said: “We’re extremely proud of what we’ve achieved in collaboration with Cosworth. We set out to create the ultimate STI and I believe we’ve done just that. I know that Mr Edwards, and the other 74 buyers, will be very happy with their purchase.”

Much respect for Cosworth, however, the price is ridiculous. It’s more than 2x the price of the original. And I guess all 75 will be
driving on the wrong side of the road

It’ll take some getting used to seeing the legendary Cosworth name on a Subaru and not a Ford, but I’ll manage. This thing is gonna be nice!

You have to admit the boxer motor in this thing will scare kids smiley. Its going to be one mean Impreza! I am hoping the pricing will be kept in check by the Ford RS500 that’s going to be released soon!
