A seemingly production ready Ford Flex has been spotted parked in the open, lacking only badges identifying it (other than a Ford oval on the grill and tailgate). Judging by the wheel size and appearance, it’s probably a base model version.
The Flex seems to be ahead of schedule, because the scheduled introduction is model year 2009. The concept car debuted at the New York Auto Show this past April.
Given the state of finish on this vehicle, the question is whether Ford has decided to advance the introduction date. Ford clearly needs new products in the showroom and the Flex, which is stylish in appearance and fits into a market segment which Ford currently is not contesting, would seem to be an important weapon in Ford’s battle to stop losing market share.
