Ford is working at two upgraded ST models which will go on sale later this year. One is the Focus ST and one is the Fiesta ST. Both models have been developed by race engineering firm Mountune from Maldon, Essex.

The first model to be offered will be the Fiesta ST 185, which goes on sale at the end of this month. it will be powered by a reworked version of the 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that delivers 185 hp. The upgrade costs £950 and boosts power by 37bhp over the regular Fiesta ST’s 148bhp. The Fiesta ST will hit a top speed of 130 mph. It will be available with a host of alloy wheel options, allowing buyers to sharpen up the looks of their car.

The Focus ST 260 will deliver 260 hp. It will make the 0 to 60 mph sprint in 5.5 seconds and will hit a top speed of 155mph. The performance package will be around £1,500. It goes on sale in summer.
