Ford Focus RS at the 2009 SEMA Show

In what must have been some sort of twisted marketing ploy, the great American automaker Ford had an Ultimate Green Ford Focus RS sitting at the beginning of their display at the 2009 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Honestly, as you turned the corner expecting to see more Mustangs than you can shake a stick at, there it was, a 300 HP turbocharged lime green Focus wearing a set of wide arches, 19 inch multi spoke rally inspired RS wheels, vents in the fenders and hood as well as a wide mouth front bumper.

At first the neon paint acted like a magnet drawing in your eyes. As anyone who has ever been behind the wheel at speed can tell you, you end up going where your eyes are looking, and we weren’t alone. We literally had to shove through the crowds and hold back attendees just to get a clean shot of Ford of Europe’s greatest creation. Hopefully Ford’s marketing team were hiding behind the curtain somewhere like the wizard of Oz just so that they can understand just how much of a demand there is for this machine right here in the U.S. however we might just settle for an RS Fiesta .

Yeah, I agree on that one! I hope to watch the next year’s event of SEMA Show! I bet it would be as fun and exciting as last year.

The newer version of Ford Focus has an impressive performance and styling compares to this vehicle. However, I would say that Ford Focus is such an iconic car.

Fantastic! I like the platform of this hatchback. I think its kind of different from the traditional look of this type. However, I just wonder if the neon paint job of this car is glow in the dark?hehe

I second the motion. For sure they will bring it over here in U.S.
It’s just a pain for me that they have to killed their most appealing car. They made a very good Mustang ( even if some says its too old) and the F150! I can’t agree more with the RS yet still they should win the WRC!

Ford is very decent ride. However, I think the recent model is like an empty shell
and same with like the way it used to be. And another, they have promised to bring back the Focus for the European and U.S country. Hope they would bring the RS. Focus is a awesome ride!
European Fords should substitute all the US passenger cars immediately.

this Ford Focus in the car show is the best model for me. This Ford Focus should be added to the list of the hatchback cars that can be used as racing car.

I don’t see it as competitive as the Mustang but the point of bringing it up on a car show may have much of my interest. I may not be a fan of this car and compare to the cars on this SEMA show that in the same level of Focus, well this brings the issue of assembly and how the enthusiast see it.
