The small car flood begins. Ford was once very clear about keeping the miniature Ka in Europe, but that now has seemed to change. Ford Chief Executive Alan Mulally says increased demand for small cars has led the automaker to revisit its decision not to bring the tiny Ka model to the United States.

The redesigned Ka made its world debut last week at the Paris Auto Show and will go on sale on the European market by late this year or early 2009. The smallest car current in Ford's line up is the Focus, and those sales were 24 percent through September.
