Ford Mustang FR500CJ priced at $70,000

A limited edition, factory-fresh drag racer?! Don’t worry about the price of fuel, this is a future classic.

Ford is ready to launch a special edition Mustang called FR500CJ, inspired by the 1968 Cobra Jet Mustang. While the original Cobra Jet’s race-inspired engine only made 390 horsepower, the Mustang FR500CJ’s 5.4L V8 from the GT500 makes 428 hp. The car is actually NHRA-legal right out of the box.

Even if you have a spare $70,000 for this racer, you still need to be quick. This Mustang will be limited to only 50 units. Sales start in December and first deliveries will be made in February 2009.
