RM Auctions, the world’s largest collector car auction house, kick starts its annual Sports & Classics of Monterey sale on August 12th with a special evening auction devoted exclusively to “the company that put the world on wheels”: the Ford Motor Company. The cars listed for auction start with a 1903 Ford Model A Rear-Entry Tonneau and go up to a 2004 Ford Mustang GT-R Concept.

The GT-R Concept was unveiled at the April 2004 New York International Auto Show, this example was built as a tribute to 40 years of Mustang performance. RM Auction announced an estimated selling price between $250,000 - $350,000.

The concept is powered by Ford’s OHC modular V8 engine that develops a total of 440 HP and is mated to a TTC T-56 six-speed transmission. It comes painted in a bright Valencia Orange paint inspired by the Grabber Orange hue of the 1970 Boss 302 Trans Am cars.
