Get some 3D glasses! Opel’s new Meriva commercial is in 3D!

  news

The advent of 3D technology has spurned a new wave of marketing and advertising efforts that are centered on making products a tad more realistic to the eye. And what better way to do that to have the public sport on a pair of 3D glasses to watch a three-dimensional commercial.

Without these glasses, however, Opel’s new Meriva crossover commercial is nothing more than your average advertisement, except for the fact that it’s got red and blue hues all over it. Not exactly the kind of commercial you’d want to see when you’re sporting a massive headache. However, if you can cop a pair of 3D glasses - you can even make one if you’re that desperate - then you’re going to enjoy this commercial, which seems to put as much face time on the Meriva as it does on all the 3D-ness it comes with. Either way, 3D’s a brand new advertising approach that hasn’t been done a whole lot before. Knowing how technology works these days, this Opel Meriva 3D commercial just may be the first of new armada of 3D commercials that will hit your TVs and computers.

hmm. It seems that I need to grab a #D glassed before I can appreciate this commercial! BTW, I was thinking if there;s any future production from this car manufacture. I haven’t heard any future plans from them.

hmm. I don’t think that the speed performance of the car is impressive. The interior of the vehicle is kind of lame. I wonder on what was the speed performance of this Opel production?

Its a cool commercial for Opel. It’s the first time I watch a 3D Commercial for a car. It feel exactly like you’re in the car. Nice job there.

I understand why you are in doubt of this version, but let’s give a chance and wait for its development.

A big round of applause for the car, and the video as well, and for the car with a great interior a thumb up for you.

Is the "Z"-window line emulating the 2011 Honda Odyssey?

We drove the previous Meriva in Germany in 2007 and thought it was very nice. This actually looks a little smaller, I wonder if that’s just my imagination.

I remember the original Subaru Legacy having an odd kink in the window line just before the rear quarter window.

The Meriva II uses the same upgraded Gamma platform as the latest Corsa. There was talk of a Saturn Corsa in the works for 2011, but since then of course GM is a different animal. A Buick version? Doubtful.

What a cool car for a small family! Full credit goes for the reverse doors and the interior. The only thing I can see is that there are likely way too many buttons on the dash, but I am sure an owner would get used to that over time. Well done Opel! I wonder if Buick will get one?
