Golf Variant coming in Summer of 2009 — possible U.S. Jetta Wagon

Volkswagen will unveil a station wagon version for its newly launched Golf VI by the summer of 2009. The car will be destined for the European market and will be available for purchase by late 2009. The technology behind the Variant version will remain unchanged from the normal Golf, including the engine choices. Rumors say that VW may give the U.S. a version, where it would be known as the Jetta Wagon.

But before the wagon, VW will unveil the GTI version at the Paris Auto Show and the Golf Plus at the Bologna Motor Show (December 5 to 14).
