Has the baby Quattroporte been named? Maserati trademarks Levante

  news

Maserati has been preparing a new luxury sedan to be placed under the current Quattropotre for longer than we’re sure they’d care to admit, but a new ripple of news could be a sign that the planning is coming to an end. Up until now, we’ve all been referring to the future model as the "baby Quattropotre," but Maserati has now trademarked the "Levante" (Italian word for "East") name to be used for one of the three new models set to be unveiled in the upcoming years.

The three models ready to be named are a new generation Quattroporte - that will retain its name for sure -, a new SUV for which Maserati has already trademarked the "Cinqueporte" name, and the new baby Quattroporte. Logically speaking, the new baby sedan seems to be the only option without a name to call it’s very own, so "Levante" may be the winner.

The new baby Quattroporte - or Levante - is set to be unveiled sometime in 2013-2014. It will be powered by a choice of V6 and V8 engines, both mated to an eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox. Prices will start in the $70,000 range.

For those who can’t afford to buy expensive cars, here’s your good opportunity to buy this one. Though it looks quite ugly, the price is reasonable though.

The price is really reasonable for this kind of car. It’s not too bad yet not too elegant. It really fits for those who can’t afford to buy expensive cars.

At least, it’s a great deal to us consumers.

I don’t doubt why it’s priced that low.

You know guys. I’m really not impressed with the styles of this Mesarati Levante. First, its grille that looks so awkward to me and the bumper which is outdated and the lines that never meant for aerodynamics.

How would you rate the quality of its materials? It must be mid-class or less to be priced like that.

I couldn’t really care less because all I’ve been waiting for is its engine specs. It should better be a high-performing automotive looking at that price.

If only I could suggest, I should have mentioned a name that’s representing high power since this baby Quattroporte is obviously great on performance.

These innovations are worth waiting for, being revealed that they house V6 – V8 engines, which are most definitely capable of giving off a high amount of ponies.
