One of the Japanese tuning companies that helped make the Nissan Skyline GT-R the legend that it is today was HKS. The tuning shop was founded with the goal of making aftermarket turbochargers and accessories to boost performance of road cars. Throughout their history the company has acquired in excess of 35 years of road racing, drag racing, rallying and top speed trials experience.

Their latest offering for the R35 Nissan GT-R->ke1592 has just arrived in the US. The GT570 racing kit, which is currently available for $5,700, as a race-exclusive conversion, comes with 75mm racing downpipes with integrated turbo elbows, new inter-cooling plumbing, a reprogrammed ECU and HKS electronic boost controller, a set of their signature SSQV blow-off valves, strengthened actuators, new spark plugs and all the hardware necessary for installation. Unfortunately, the installation of these components, specifically the exhaust, will make the GT-R non- emissions compliant in the US, Japan and Europe. However HKS was aware of this and have designed a street legal version as well.

The street legal version is made possible for the Nissan->ke62 by the use of high flowing catalytic converters. This new updated kit will be on sale later in 2009 and will come with a slightly higher price compared to the racing variant. The package can be installed in both the original 2009 model year GT-R and the newer 2010 Series II versions.

The HKS R-35 GT570 Racing Package will be sold only through authorized HKS dealers.
