In HKS’s never ending quest for time attack dominance it has prepared a special version of Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. This Evo X has been renamed the CZ200S and is a purpose built time attack machine. A time attack car has only one purpose: complete a single lap around a circuit faster than any other competitor.
This is HKS’s latest attempt at dominating time attack events with an Evo. Originally the TRB-02 was a bare carbon fiber bodied Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII. The car was campaigned successfully until a catastrophic incident occurred while running at the Tskuba Circuit in Japan.
The entire car was rebuilt and given a new red paint scheme. The CT230R was born, and with Japanese racing driver Nobutero Taniguchi (NOB or No One Better) the car was able to lap the Tskuba Circuit in less than one minute and competed with great success in Time Attack events around the world.
HKS is a forward thinking company and knew that in order to keep up with the market; they needed to develop a new vehicle. Mitsubishi Evo was chosen just like in the past and HKS hopes to use the CZ200S as an R&D test vehicle besides being a time attack vehicle and will become the benchmark for all Evos to come. The CZ200S has already attained a time of 59.495 seconds at the Tskuba Circuit and the team at HKS see no reason why they cannot go faster.
