In the near future, Opel might sell a luxury European version of the Holden Commodore. The new model will come to replace the Omega that was discontinued in 2003 and will became the flagship of the Opel range.

The first attempt to replace Omega with the Signum (a stretched Vectra) was a failure, that Opel says won't happen again when Vectra will be replaced in 2008.

"We are … interested in the V6 luxury specification,” Mr Demant confirmed at the Frankfurt motor show last week. "We do know the vehicle is available and I must say I like the vehicle very much. But I need to obviously get support from my marketing colleagues before we import it."
