Horacio Pagani Drops His Huayra, Drives a McLaren P1 MSO Instead

Horacio Pagani has the kind of problem we can only dream of having. The founder of Pagani was recently spotted out and about in a McLaren P1 MSO , an incredibly exclusive supercar that I can’t possibly purchase unless I win the lottery. It must be tough having to make a choice between driving a P1 and his very own Huayra .

But such is the life of a man who is embedded deep in the industry’s supercar circle. We’re not going to make an issue out of that. Besides, he probably has a reason for doing so, not the least of which could be to test out the P1 and use it to help better his own lineup. That’s happened before in the business and it will likely happen again.

Who knows what his real intentions are. What we do know is that Horacio Pagani is an awesome man with an impeccable taste in supercars. The P1 MSO he’s driving also looks incredible, especially the exterior panels decked out in chrome to go with the orange trim on the hood and the red leather interior.

Why It Matters

It’s Horacio Pagani, the man behind the creation of the effervescent Zonda supercar and its equally titillating successor, the Huayra. So seeing him in a competitor’s own prized exotic will rattle the senses of some Pagani loyalists, even if that’s probably not the case in this instance.

We’re confident that this is just Pagani enjoying the P1 like anybody else would. If he so happens to pick up some pointers about the car that he can translate into a future Huayra version, then more power to the man.

It just goes to show that when you strive to be the best, it doesn’t hurt to have help from others with the same objectives in life.

The P1 is rare enough on its own with only 375 models being built.

The McLaren P1 MSO is the perfect example of an exclusive supercar getting an exclusive customization treatment. The P1 is rare enough on its own with only 375 models being built, but some customers aren’t content with being one of 375. They want to be part of an even more exclusive club, hence the decision to send the P1 to McLaren Special Operations (MSO) to get some kind of sexy customization.

The result is an even sexier P1 that really takes the supercar to another aesthetic level.

The McLaren P1 is powered by a hybrid powertrain that produces a staggering 903 horsepower and 1,100 pound-feet of torque, allowing it to crest 60 mph in just 2.6 seconds to go with a top speed of 217 mph.
