We all know that Hyundai->ke201 and Kia->ke41 both have been making huge strides in both volume sales and luxury cars. The latter of the two have been compounded, thanks to the Equus->ke3333 and Genesis->ke2924 Sedan from Hyundai, and it looks the Korean automaker has set its sights on slightly higher-volume luxury models.

First on the docket is a new 3 Series->ke290/C-Class->ke1593 competitor; a small, luxurious and (relatively) affordable sedan. According to a report from Auto News, this compact, luxo-rig is codenamed the "RK" and it was softly confirmed when the CEO of Hyundai America said "I think it's fair to say that within a couple of years there may be another premium nameplate."

Also mentioned was a subcompact crossover to compete with the Juke->ke3600, Kia Soul->ke2186 and Encore->ke4147. Hyundai's CEO is a little concerned about entering too many segments, but is "intrigued" by the B-segment.

For now, there is nothing confirmed, but the 3 Series competitor looks to be a sure thing. Stay tuned to TopSpeed for more details.

Hyundai Genesis

For 2015, Hyundai revised the exterior with its Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design, giving it a more luxurious and angular appearance. On the inside, the cabin also received some revision that added more comfort and simplicity.

Under its hood, the Genesis houses the same 3.8-liter V-6 and 5.0-liter V-8 engines with 311 and 420 horsepower, respectively. The big addition is the new HITRAC AWD system, which is sure to make the Genesis Sedan on hell of a ride.
