Hyundai Elantra dominates Academy Awards advertising

The King’s Speech may have won Best Picture at the Academy Awards last night, but the true winner - at least from an automotive perspective - was the 2011 Hyundai Elantra . The best looking small sedan of 2011 didn’t have to share the spotlight with anyone as Hyundai was the exclusive automotive sponsor for the third year in a row.

The 2011Hyundai Elantra is powered by an all-new 1.8-liter inline-four that produces 148 horsepower and 131 pound-feet of torque. Throw in the six-speed automatic transmission and the Elantra shines with 28 mpg in the city and 40 mpg on the highway. Hyundai says that 40 mpg is attainable on the full range of Elantra trims, not just ECO models. This isn’t your typical small sedan, the Elantra looks brilliant and can offer best in class fuel economy.

Hyundai’s approach to their Academy Awards advertising was much more low key and to-the-point than the Super Bowl ads they produced. In total, Hyundai had nine advertisements airing before and during the 83rd Annual Academy Awards, including two new spots for the Elantra and Genesis called "Drawing Board" (shown above) and "Greatest Luxury," respectively. Other spots include "Good Things Come in Threes" highlighting Hyundai’s powertrains, "Comfy Home" featuring the Equus , "Family" featuring the Sonata , "Anachronistic City" featuring the Sonata Hybrid , "iPad" which highlights the Equus’ application of the iPad owner’s manual, and "Childhood" and "Deprogramming" also featuring the Elantra.

No doubt, if why it was awarded as the best looking small sedan for 2011, it was obviously looking so awesome and fabulous on its sleek bloody body paint but when it comes into an engine, I must say that it was absolutely quite disappointed.

Wow. I like their approach with this car. This commercial must surely be awarded. By the way, what I can say with the video is very cool. Impressive with the looks and very interesting. I do like the wheels and paint of the car because it really shows luxury.

Well, I really don’t find any interesting part on this car.. The red exterior is great but I don’t think that Hyundai have offer any stunning feature for this vehicle.

The good thing about Hyundai vehicle was.. it has an impressive styling. I think this car manufacturer had made an awesome design for a sedan type.

I don’t understand why you guys keep on comparing the Elantra to those supercars in terms of performance. As far as I can see, the car is really performing well.

Oh Please! Just leave that hot red on the Ferrari! Though I have to agree that it has a best look but ’hideous’ engine performance.

Well, it wasn’t bad at all. It was given a title as a "Best Looking sedan", it means that it has the best look but not in the performance..Well, fair enoughsmiley

Elantra really got its spotlight and it’s awesome design and exteriors for the small sedan sector, are very smooth on the eye. they have caught the pulse through the advertising that shows how people loved the model.

Well, i agree with that. For me, I would describe sedan as a boring production
but when I saw Hyundai Elantra it definitely change my perception for sedan!
The exterior and the aesthetic design of this car is extremely awesome. I like the
taillights and the eagle-eyed headlights!Nice job Hyundai!

As far as I have read, the Elantra is actually doing well in the reviews, with a lot of folks considering it as one of Hyundai’s best vehicles. So this commercial is actually rather apt.

Well, Hyundai’s definitely getting all the attention that they deserve. Their cars were often underrated before, but they have now shown how they can really work.

Well, they really deserve all that advertising spot. The quality of cars that Hyundai now makes are certainly much better when compared to the first time they entered the US market.

Yup, Hyundai really has come a long way from its beginnings as the Korean car manufacturer that is always mocked in reviews. Now they are getting a sizable portion of the US market.

Wow, Hyundai is really prepping up for the introduction of the Elantra. It seems that they are really bent on making a buzz on this one. And the ads are actually pretty good too.

After years of Korean Auto Manufactures like Hyundai, finally they already made a production of their own models and designs, they make sure that their car does have the Korean culture just like the Japanese.

Elantra is not the competitor of Mazda Speed or Nor the Focus RS, it’s the I30 GT is it’s Competitor.
