Jaguar XK will receive a new engine that is already in the Jaguar KJ in some European countries. The 3.5L version of Jaguar’s V-8 engine will make from this model a new entry level version of the XK.
Only better equipped versions of the Jaguar models were send to the US market, reserving smaller engines for the European market where high gas prices have made them more appealing. The new engine will be installed in the coupe and convertible.
The smaller engine has been specially tuned for the XK as has the cars exhaust system in an effort to deliver sportier performance.
The 3.5l engine is expected to put 256hp, with the 0-62 MPH acceleration time in arround seven second. The new model will probably be available only in a few European markets and will start around 75,000 euros, about €10,000 less than the 4.2L version.
