Lamborghini->ke44 was founded back in 1963 and by doing simple math you will see that 2013 marks the company's 50th anniversary. 50 years on a market is a great reason to celebrate, and as far as we have seen, it will be quite a celebration.

Up to this point, Lamborghini has dropped the Veneno supercar and the Aventador LP720-4 50° Anniversario, and will continue with a "Grande Giro.” This "Grand Tour" will bring together a convoy of 350 Lamborghini super sports cars and will start on May 8th.

The "Giro" will start at Lombardia and will continue on to Toscana, Lazio, Umbria, Emilia Romagna, Forte dei Marmi, Grosseto, Roma, San Giustino Valdarno and will arrive in Bologna on May 10th. On the last day -- May 11 -- the convoy will depart again for Sant’Agata Bolognese.

An interesting fact: the 350 cars will measure about 4.5 km (2.8 miles) in length and will deliver more than 190,000 horsepower in total.

About Lamborghini

The Lamborghini name was initially used for a tractor company -- Lamborghini Trattori S.p.A. -- which produced the best tractors in the country. However, in 1963, Ferruccio Lamborghini decided his company can do more and founded the Automobili Ferruccio Lamborghini S.p.A with the main purpose of developing a grand touring car that will take on models from Ferrari.

A bold decision for a tractor company, no?

The model it came up with was the Miura and it enjoyed great success up until 1973. From here, things started to go quite bad for Lamborghini. It filed for bankruptcy in 1978 and in 1987, was bought by Chrysler.

The American company couldn't bring it back to life so it sold it to Malaysian investment group Mycom Setdco and Indonesian group V'Power Corporation in 1994. But things continue to go bad that Lamborghini was sold all over again, this time to Audi AG in 1998.

The German maker was able to bring it back to life and in 2007 and in 2008, Lamborghini enjoyed record sales.

The models offered by the company are: Miura and derivatives, Marzal, Islero 400GT, Espada, Jarama 400GT, Urraco, Countach, Cheetah, LM002, Diablo, Gallardo, Murcielago, Reventon, Aventador and Veneno.
