Lamborghini Estoque may see production line

Lamborghini Estoque

The Lamborghini Estoque concept graced the Paris Motor Show floor back in 2008 and was an instant success. We would be bold enough to say that everyone thought the car would shoot straight into production immediately after it debuted, but we were all wrong. After an onslaught of rumors stating the Estoque’s production would be placed on hold, Lamborghini cleared the air by saying its production was never on the table to begin with.

But as with many things in the automotive business, the idea that the Lamborghini Estoque was not going to production changed the minute Lamborghini needed a little oomph in their sales charts. The plans may not be completely set in stone, but with the Aston Martin Rapide and thePorsche Panamera blaring off of computer screens everywhere, the Estoque may just be what Lamborghini needs to fight back.

The 2009 Lamborghini Estoque concept is the first "sedan" in Lamborghini history, but that doesn’t mean it lacks the essence of the company. The sedan reference is strictly for the number of doors the Estoque carries. Under the hood, the production will likely have something along the lines of the V10 from the Gallardo LP 560-4 that produces 560hp. This engine would make it an ideal competitor for the Aston Martin Rapide which only produces 470hp. The only thing that might put a hamper on the production Estoque’s sales would be the hefty $200,000 price tag.

I think there is always room for improvement. Or Is Lamborghini experimenting some of its designs so that it become more appealing?

Actually, I was a bit shocked because Lamborghini doesn’t usually makes sedan car. Well, this is the first of its kind in Lamborghini line so I was expecting that it would have a great sales on its debut!

Most probably this car will not be available before 2014 because of the Aventador and the Gallardo production. I thought they are going to kill this concept. Well, it seems that we need to wait longer to see this car in production.

Yeah that’s right. However, the only thing that I don’t like is the stripe on the bonnet. And I don’t think that Aston Martin would be the great competitor of this carsmiley

Well, I do believe that Lamborghini car is almost perfect and it doesn’t need any modification for the engine.

Seriously, this car needs a tuning modification. I don’t like the design for the rear lip, corner spoiler and rear skirt.

oh no! I don’t like to see a four door version of the Lambo it will ruined the car’s aesthetic!I agree with you Phe_Rari,its much better if they stick on the traditional look.

I think it would be better if they would stick on their traditional coupe design Omarion_Steve. I’m afraid that if they do the four door it will destroy the perfect shape of the Lambo.

that design on a 2-door folding roof like the Ferrari California would look really good, as it is though, looks good. thought the front would look something like that, the side will take time to get used to i think

the funny thing though when i saw the Estoque, it looks like the Gallardo that is coated with different color and a little facelift..

It costs a little bit more than a Gallardo, according to some other articles so your looking at the mid 200k US. But there seems to be a question on its release still.

If VW were going to make a 4-seat Lamborghini, they need to put the engine behind the rear seats, rather than the front axle. At that point, the wheelbase gets a little nutty, but is probably OK for highway cruising - just don’t expect any luggage space..

And if is going to re body the Panamera (like they did with the Cayenne), Audi could use a RS9 highlighting their Quattro system.

Looks like a sedan but this sport car supports massive power. Are they ready for the manufacturing of this car.

I’m not against the idea of a 4-door Lamborghini but I would rather see a new sports car to slot in below the Gallardo. It would do little to dilute the brand and open the scissor doors to a new breed of rich who are not quite wealthy enough for a $180,000 bull.

Horay! Now I really can’t wait to drive one of this babies on the road.

This looks like a mutant Panamera with a Lambo clip on the front. It’s not a Lambo, because Lambos are mid-engine. Bad design, and ugly. Almost as monstrous as the Aston not-Lagonda concept.
