For almost every racing game, there is a great hero car. For the classic Need for Speed: Most Wanted it was the BMW M3->ke2366 GTR, for Gran Turismo 1 & 2 it was the Nissan GT-R, and now for the upcoming Forza Horizon 2 it will be the all-new Lamborghini Huracan.

Lamborghini->ke44’s newest car replaces the Gallardo, the best-selling car Lamborghini has ever created, and it features an uprated version of the V-10 found in its predecessor. The exact car that players will be chasing after in the new Forza Horizon game is the Huracan LP 610-4 and it will be wearing a shade dubbed Midas Yellow.

If the new Forza Horizon follows the same series of events as the first Horizon game, players will start the game in a low-level car and be tasked with racing your way into ever faster cars by beating rivals and challenges. Your final rival will be driving the new Huracan.

In another milestone occasion for Turn 10 Studios, this will be the first time a digital version of the Huracan is available to drive in any game. Look for Forza Horizon 2 to hit the Xbox One->ke4786 and Xbox 360 consoles later this fall.

Why It Matters

The first Forza Horizon was a great game, but in regards to sales it was one of the weakest performing Forza Motorsports titles. Having a new and exciting car like the Lamborghini Huracan will get people interested in playing. It also gives us, the players, a chance to experience a special car that we likely would have no opportunity to ever drive in real life.

It isn’t the same as a real-life drive, but sometimes you have to take what you can get. If that means 10 virtual cylinders instead of 10 real ones, that is okay by me.

Lamborghini Huracan

The Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 is the replacement for Lamborghini’s most successful model of all time. With all-wheel drive and a V-10 engine with about 600 horsepower, the new car should handily outrun its predecessor on a racetrack, and the new smoother shape looks nicer too. Replacing the Gallardo is no easy task, but if all current review and press drives are to be believed, Lamborghini has hit this one out of the park.

For even more fun and excitement, expect a topless version to arrive within a year or two, and a lighter more powerful version to arrive a few years after that. The future looks bright for Lamborghini and the Huracan.
