Lamborghini SUV previewed in New York

Lamborghini SUV

The concept version of the upcoming Lamborghini SUV will be unveiled at the end of April at the Beijing Auto Show, but some lucky guests - aka select Lamborghini clientele - at the 2012 New York Auto Show were able to get a sneak peek at the concept. Lamborghini tried to keep everything secret until the concept’s official debut in China, but there were some people at the event who decided to share some information.

Those specific event goers reported that the car will have a silhouette similar to the BMW X6 and will be the same size as the Audi Q7 . The concept will feature a carbon fiber body kit and LED headlights similar to the ones seen in the Estoque . At the rear, the SUV will feature four trapezoidal exhaust tips integrated in the rear bumper diffuser. The concept sits on a new set of 24" wheels with a carbon fiber design similar to the Aventador J combined with naturally carbon-ceramic brakes.

More details about the Lamborghini SUV Concept will be revealed during the car’s official debut in Beijing, so stay tuned!

Why wasn’t I in New York? I guess I’ve lost the chance ever to see it personally first!

And there goes my dream of seeing this, down the drain. I don’t have a Lamborghini car, so I don’t have the opportunity to view it personally. Too bad; I really, really like its fascia’s gaunt design!

Grrrrrrrrrr

This is such bull I went to the auto show and Lamborghini only had a gallardo and the adventador!! There was nothing about the suv!!!

Ah, this is the Deimos. I’d love to see it up close but unfortunately, I have no Lamborghini.

If only I own a Lamborghini car, I’d have the chance to be a guest! I guess I’m just not fortunate this time.

I should just wait for its full details. I’ll never be one of the lucky clienteles as I don’t even own one Lamborghini. smiley

Why not? We’re living in a SUV-age, and the heir of the LM will be welcome.

Only a few suggestions: Which name will the car have? I’d favorize Mulhacén - the highest mountain in Spain, and the Lambos love Spanish namessmiley. If Lamborghini accepts this name, very well - I even don’t want a fee for it, but I’d of course take a model as gift...

And - thinking at the Evoque policy: Lamborghini should build two cars: one 5doors and one 3doors - the latter being unique in that size and being in the tradition of Lamborghini cars: coupés, and thus be a new and fascinating contrast to all the 5doors dinos on the road...
