The SC430 may be getting booted headfirst out of Lexus'->ke47 lineup, but don't think for one minute that the Japanese auto brand hasn't already made plans for a successor. Snuggling itself in the SC430's slot will be the LC600h (tentatively named) which will be built on a shortened version of the next-generation LS platform. A Lexus insider claims that the LC600h will capture the essence of Lexus, including their performance, luxury, and environment causing it to reach the luxurious status of the Mercedes SL-Class->ke950.

The LC600h will be an all-wheel drive convertible with a retractable metal roof. It will be powered by a 5.0-liter V-8 hybrid system that will produce around 500 HP. That's a helluva successor considering the current SC430 only delivers a measly 288hp in comparison. With this amount of power the future convertible will make the sprint from 0 to 60 mph in less than 5 seconds.

The Lexus insider further stated: "If we don't get anymore nasty surprises on the economic front, then any time after 2015 might be the right time for the LC."

The official debut will be made at one of the major shows in 2014.
