It’s not a secret that the Lexus SC430 has not seen much success on the market. The car was unveiled in 2002 and it has featured zero significant changes since then. This might be the reason why only a total of 1000 units where sold in 2009. So, Lexus has finally decided to put it to rest. The last units will be produced in July and the company will start preparing the next-generation SC that is set to debut in 2014. The 2010 Lexus SC430 features an all-aluminum construction and is powered by a 4.3-liter engine that produces 288 hp and 317 lb-ft of torque. It can go from 0 to 60 mph in a remarkable 5.8 seconds. The engine is mated to a six-speed Sequential-Shift automatic transmission. The next generation is supposed to be called the SC 600h and will be powered by a 5.0-liter V8 matched to a hybrid electric system. Competition for this model is said to be the Mercedes SL-Class. Stay tuned for more details on the Lexus SC 600h! .
6 comments: Lexus SC430 production ends The SC430 is emblematic of everything wrong with Toyota — boring, slow, characterless. It’s even more tragic when compared to the breakthrough model (JZZ30/Soarer/SC300) that it replaced.
Its about DAMN TIME......people stopped buying them because they are dated get with the program toyota. Can the GEN 3 SC get some back seat room and be a little bigger than the current model.
