Limited-run Porsche 959 S for sale on Craigslist

You rarely chance upon a limited-edition sports car being sold on, of all places, Craigslist. So when we found out that a Porsche 959S – a car that was so ahead of its time back in the ’80’s that Porsche highlighted it with a Sports package where they produced only 29 units - was being sold by Canepa Design in Scotts Valley, California, then we just had to go check for ourselves whether Bruce Canepa really needs some money these days or if he’s just lost his mind.

If the name sounds familiar, Bruce Canepa was actually a top-flight racer back in the day and he’s also the same man who helped make the ’59 street-legal in the US. So of all people, you’d think that he would know just how rare and valuable that Porsche 959S he has sitting on his studio really is.

In fairness, he is selling the car for a mind-numbing $525,000 so it’s likely he won’t get conned into selling his 959S for well below the standard asking price. Still, it’s a Porsche 959S, Bruce! Don’t you have any other thing you can sell for that kind of money? Perhaps your kidney?

When you hear about 80’s, its vintage, and vintage means classy. So why then it is only limited, I mean the Porshe 959S. Mr. Canepa won’t you reconsider?

People sell all kinds of stuff on the internet and I have to say that as weird as it gets, most of them are successful in selling them. Anyhow, the difficult thing about seeing a car in picture or in video is that you cannot see it closely enough to see whether it’s damaged or not, you can’t test drive it and you cant determine if it’s authentic or just a replica. Something that chop shops made perhaps?

Lol. Well, I doubt that anybody’s kidney would worth as much as $525,000. Didn’t he say his reasons on why he would need money? Maybe he needs it for some kind of health problems or some family problems. Anyways, it’s his private reason. The car is definitely hot and it is definitely a collector’s item. If this were in an auction, I think people will bid even if it reaches millions.

well I think he needs some space on his garage for a new sport car ain’t it? so let me guess will he buy a new Porsche panamera?
