Lotus’ Paris Motor Show explosion back in September gave way to the announcement of some big changes to their lineup occurring sometime in the near future. Well, this may very well be the near future since, according to British magazine, AutoCar, Lotus CEO Dany Bahar has announced there will be a new Exige revealed later this year at the Geneva Motor Show. And that’s not all, Bahar also announced that the Evora will get a refresh and will be launched in 2012. The new Evora will get a completely redesigned cabin and a new version to go along with the newest S trim level. The cabin will be designed by German firm, CSI, who have also engineered cabins for the Audi R8, Mercedes SLS, and Porsche Panamera. So, if we have this right, we should be getting a new Evora in 2012, new Esprit and Elan models in 2013, the Elite in 2014, and the Elise and Eterne in 2015. Talk about having all of your ducks in a row. .

Just because Lotus is planning a slew of new supercars that will allow it to compete with the likes of Ferrari, Lamborghini and Aston Martin vehicles, it doesn’t mean that the British automaker is ditching its current lineup.
I know everyone was raving about the new bodies Lotus displayed at the auto show, but I’m still gonna hold fast and say that this current style is awesome. I would love to own one of these some day.
What probably was always best at Lotus cars was the fact they had good engines, and they were relatively cheap (good market value). If they keep these elements the future models might stand a chance.!
I agree. in order for Lotus to come bank, they don’t just need new models... they need a new line of really cool cars, since no one I think will be willing to invest in a car that is just ok. Lotus should not forget about the competition on this automotive market.
