Mazda MX-5->ke1185

The Mazda MX-5 was unveiled in 1989 and is one of the best-sold small roadsters on the market with about 1 million units sold to this point.

The MX-5 saw three different generations -- NA, NB and NC -- and tons of special editions. The first MX-5 was offered with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine delivering a total of 115 horsepower and 100 pound-feet of torque at 5,500 rpm. Things evolved during the years with the second generation ushering in a 1.8-liter engine with 140 horsepower.

The third generation - and the current one - is offered with a 2.0-liter engine with 170 horsepower.

Rumors suggest that Mazda is already developing a fourth-generation MX-5. It will arrive sometime in 2014 and will be developed in cooperation with Alfa Romeo.
