There aren't a lot of cars that are as highly anticipated as the McLaren P1. That's precisely why news of it starting production is, well, newsworthy.

Obviously McLaren->ke284 also relizes the importance of the P! to enthusiasts, as it took the task of announcing the birth of its halo supercar->ke177. The British automaker even took a couple of photos of the initial production process of the P1 and from the pictures that were released, it certainly appears that McLaren is being ultra-meticulous about the creation of its 916-horsepower beast.

The section dedicated to the production of P1->ke4608 appears to be cordoned off, giving us hints of how careful McLaren is being with building the car from the ground up. Certainly, the P1 deserves all the attention it's getting, especially when you consider its status in the industry as one of those new supercars that's expected to be just as powerful as they are exclusive.

Only 375 units of the McLaren P1 will be build at a price of £866,000, which is around $1.4 million based on current exchange rates. That's a lot of money for a supercar, yet only a number of models are left unaccounted for.

Speaks to the appeal of the P1 and McLaren, if you ask us.
