Mercedes-AMG GT

The new Mercedes AMG GT is a smaller sports car that will take the position of halo model after the SLS is killed off. Rather than be a true supercar fighting the likes of Ferrari and McLaren, the new GT will be a smaller, more focused sports car that is aimed at the likes of the Porsche 911.

It will be powered by a twin-turbocharged, 4.0-liter V-8 that is made almost exclusively from aluminum to reduce weight. At full howl, the AMG GT will be producing 503 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque.

Design-wise, the new GT will bear more than a simple resemblance to the outgoing SLS, but in the move to become a more focused, cheaper and mainstream model, the SLS’s signature gullwing doors have been tossed in favor of traditional front-swing units.

This new machine will be officially unveiled on September 9th.
