Today, Mercedes "accidentally" dropped the first official image of the facelift version CL63/CL65 AMG models. While there are no details on it, it is rumored that the CL63 AMG will be powered by the same 544 HP 5.5-liter V8 engine found on the 2011 S63 AMG. The CL65 AMG is expected to carry a V12 engine that delivers 612 HP. This image reveals a slightly sharper-lined grille, a different set of headlights, and new LEDs in the headlights. There are also two extra lines on the hood of the car. So, yes, you are pretty much looking at a S63 AMG Coupe. If Mercedes’ goal was to take an old model and sharpen it up to create a more focused and clean look then they have succeeded. No, there are not many dramatic changes that will make a lot of people squeal with excitement, but they were able to clean up a nice model and make it that much better. No extremes, just clean cut improvements. Maybe this was their way to provide the market with a better model of the CL63 AMG and CL65 AMG to go inline with their new "The Best or Nothing" campaign. Stay tuned for more details! .
6 comments: Mercedes CL63 CL65 AMG Facelift first image leaked I think this is the best representation of Mercedes’ new design language yet. The car looks sharp like the post says. And I don’t even really like Mercedes.
I’ve noticed that the exterior design of this Mercedes CL63 and CL65 AMG Facelift have newly designed headlights with LED indicators and instead of the classic fog lamps. Well, both of them are beautiful with that LED daytime running lights.
The front end treatment looks a lot like that on new Volvos. Not digging the headlights yet either, but overall I think it’s an improvement. Looks more cohesive than the regular E, which looks overworked.
Most of the merc cars today has the same rear end. it looks more awful than the previous models. To be honest, I like the old model of the mercs than the new ones but I also like the performance and comfort of the new models.
