As previously reported, Mercedes will drop the CLK-Class and will replace it with a coupe version of the E-Class. The new E-Class Coupe will go on sale in June 2009. Its design will be inspired by the Fascination concept car revealed by Mercedes at the Paris Auto Show. The E-Class Coupe will make its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2009. It will compete with the Audi A5 and the future coupe version of the Jaguar XF.
There is expected to be a buffet of versions/engines available: E200 - 184bhp, E280 - 231bhp, E350 - 300bhp, E450 - 354bhp, E550 - 428bhp, E63 AMG - 481bhp, E63 AMG Black Series - 525bhp, E250 CDI - 201bhp and E320 CDI- 252bhp. A hybrid version will also likely be available in two years after the official launch.
