Mercedes GLK Coupè will be Unveiled in 2016

Mercedes is preparing to expand its SUV lineup by at least two new models, according to previous rumors. Along with the new GLA already caught testing, it looks like Mercedes will also offer a Coupè version of the GLK. The model is internally known as the GLC and will be unveiled in 2016, right after the new-generation GLK arrives on the market.

The upcoming GLK Coupè will be built on the company’s new MRA rear-wheel-drive platform and will be offered with a much sleeker and more stylish body when compared to the current GLK. Under the hood, you should expect both the 2.0-liter and 2.2-liter petrol and diesel engines, with an AMG version rumored to be powered by a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 with an output of about 462 horsepower.

The model will target SUVs like the upcoming Porsche Macan and will be put on sale at a price of about £29,000 ($46,000 at the current exchange rates) in 2016. It is still unknown if the GLC name will make it to production or if it will be called the GLK Coupè.
