With an cleverly coordinated interplay of words and synchronized movements, four actors impressively demonstrate the flawless interaction of the all-wheel drive system from Mercedes-Benz. The virtuosic succession of words and motion explains the advantages of 4MATIC all-wheel drive technology in a straightforward and engaging manner.
“The Mercedes-Benz brand has a century of expertise in the development and production of all-wheel drive vehicles. The commercial ‘The 4MATICs’ underlines the claim to leadership which we have in this area,” says Dr. Olaf Göttgens, Vice President Brand Communications Mercedes-Benz Passenger Cars. “The advantages of 4MATIC reinforce the Mercedes-Benz typical characteristics such as driving quality and safety. In the first TV commercial of the cooperation with Jung von Matt, we present these advantages in an unusual way,” Göttgens ads.
The 30-second commercial was created by movie director Sebastian Schipper, who is known for the German films Gigantics and A Friend of Mine. Moreover, the TV spot’s message is reinforced by a brief reminder. The commercial is an important part of this year’s communication activities for the innovative 4MATIC technology. Beginning this weekend, the commercial will be broadcast on all nation-wide public and private TV channels in Germany. A banner campaign on the internet also advertises the website available at http://www.4MATIC.de, which will provide additional information on Mercedes-Benz’ expertise in all-wheel drive systems starting on March 3, 2007.
Mercedes-Benz offers the world’s widest range of premium all-wheel drive vehicles, encompassing numerous 4MATIC variants in a total of seven model series. The development and production of all-wheel drive vehicles has a long tradition at Mercedes-Benz. In 1907, the Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft, as the company was then known, built the four-wheel drive Dernburg Car. Today, the new 4MATIC generation provides Mercedes-Benz customers with a unique system for easily mastering critical situations when faced with ice and snow, slippery cobblestones or wet surfaces. While retaining the high level of driving quality typical of Mercedes-Benz, the system also boosts traction and — thanks to its interaction with ESP® — helps motorists in all weather conditions. With its compact and light-weight construction, 4MATIC provides clear advantages concerning weight, consumption, comfort and safety.
