Unlike the Ferrari 458 Italia, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG has certainly proved its mettle out on the streets. Whether it has more careful drivers or just a case of being less prone to accidents, the SLS AMG has so far escaped the car crash headlines of our site. As far as our memories are concerned, there has only been one other production SLS AMG that has crashed since the car was released a year ago. Unfortunately, we’re going to have to add a second car to that list. We just unearthed news coming out of London that a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG was involved in a pretty serious crash after colliding with a Vauxhall Astra somewhere in London, England. Details on how the crash transpired are still sketchy at this point, but according to those who witnessed the episode, one vehicle was responsible for the crash for beating a red light, causing the other car to lose control and smash into it. Pictures are indeed worth 1,000 words and judging from the photo we obtained, it looks like the SLS AMG looks pretty dinged up after the whole incident. .
10 comments: Mercedes SLS AMG takes a serious hit in London Ouch! that would definitely leave a mark. I am really dumbfounded as to why the driver of the F-150 was not able to see the car, considering that it’s red and a Ferrari at that.
Man, this one I can’t watch. Poor Ferraris. But then again, that’s really unavoidable when a major revolution is going on in your country.
Know what, they should have a special license category for those wishing to drive supercars. So that they won’t go overboard.
 maybe he’s really thirsty for speed? what do you think? but he is london though the streets are tight and the road is too small to test you crave for speed.
 dang I hate to see a super car ended up in a crash, Like many other said, Great power comes with a great responsibilities. I guess the owner is not that responsible enough to have this car.
 Too bad! I guess the people that build these things do not read auto industry news... otherwise they will cry all day finding out that their hours spent on such beautiful and expensive car, go to trash in a second!
 Yeah, the costs to fix the problem will be like $40k... only a new mercedes  Probably they should invent the modular car, so you can move your engine to another car easily 
 Of course a Ferrari will have "problems" more often than a Mercedes. First of all, the Ferrari drivers are impulsive and not to bright On the other hand, the Mercedes drivers are more conservative and sober (possibly in all ways).
 it is because the Mercedes Benz SLS AMG is really meant for road and on track. but if you want real sports car you can always choose the Special Edition of SLS AMG and that is specially made for Track only but the safety features is lessen due to weight concerns.
 dang, good thing that the driver didn’t receive a serious injury. I bet Merc SLS AMG is proven its safety for the road features unlike the ferrari and lamborghini.
