Don’t know about you but I get pretty dizzy with so many name in the Mercedes line-up: C-Class, CL-Class, CLK-Class, CLC-Class. Hm! Is time to stop, don’t you think? Well, yes. Mercedes will renounce at the CL, CLC and CLK classes starting next year and replace them with S-Class Coupe and C-Class Coupe and C-Class cabrio.
The C-Class cabrio will be less expensive than the most basic SLK, meaning will go on sale at a price around £27,000.
The two-door C-Class will be based on the same platform as the sedan version. It will be offered with direct-injection petrol-fed 2.0-litre four-cylinder, a V6, the new 2.2-litre diesel CDI and the 3.0-litre V6 CDI. Hybrid version will also be offered.
