Mini delays Crossover launch until 2010

mini delays crossover launch until 2010 picture

At last year’s Paris Motor Show, the English automaker Mini showed the world the Mini Crossover concept that took the cute Cooper and beefed it up with some off road attitude, and everyone expected to see the production version this September at the Frankfurt Motor Show. however Mini has announced that the crossover’s official launch has been delayed until 2010 at the earliest.

That doesn’t mean that the Mini booth will be empty in Frankfurt, the automobile manufacturer will be unveiling the Mini Coupe concept and the Mini Roadster concept at the German auto show, a fitting move considering that their parent company BMW is from the region.

The crossover model, reportedly called Crossman, is almost certain to make an appearance at the Geneva motor show next spring. According to a BMW Mini spokesman, "The Crossover launch has been pushed back as we wish to first explore differentiation within future Mini smaller models and get feedback." Hopefully we don’t face any more financial crisis before then.

Yeah, think it would be better if they have update the platform of the car.. for I think they haven’t change at all. And it’s disappointing as well that it doesn’t have some stunning features to offer!

This sounds really strange, a small car offering a crossover version?hmm. It seems that they I’m really bored with the face of this car! Hell, I think the MINI needs to modify their car into a more modern vehicle.

It’s a good thing that the launch of this car is delayed so that they can upgrade this one. The green roof did not fit on the car. Better change that one and the way I see it, it cannot compete with other cars.

Yeah, I agree..I think its much better if they have made a modification for small car. I suggest that they will make a car that can compete with the current production of Fiat or Abarth.

This sounds really strange, a small car offering a crossover version?hmm. It seems that they are planning to make fun on their car. I bet this is one of the pointless and useless car ever built!

I’ve been thinking of other reasons of delaying its launch. Maybe, there are also problems concerning on the production or the present economic situations (to consider?)

As much as I hate to see Mini getting bigger, I can definitely see this selling well.. I imagine this will be the thing to have for women. It’s cute, it’s larger (and safer) than the cooper, and it will have a higher seating height that women like.

Good. I can’t imagine this will help the resale of my Club man. Hate to see them take away from the Mini brand with the 4 doors, high stance, etc. Can’t imagine it would be as fun (sporty) to drive as the Mini is known for.... Not feeling it. Anyone actually consider buying this, I am curious?

This is prototype plug-in hybrid crossover utility vehicle with a 1.6 liter gasoline engine. Did you know that it first exhibited at the Tokyo Motor Show in September last 2009.

It has been quite a while since I have learned or heard of any updates from Mini. Were they that affected with the financial turmoil? Anyways, the look of this concept car seems promising. It looks a little bit of an SUV or something.
