Mitsubishi i, takes award.
The innovative Mitsubishi i has been given the award of 2007 Car of the Year, by The Automotive Researchers’ & Journalists’ Conference of Japan (RJC), the car is a very nice looking and sort quaint style that is similar to the SMART cars in appearance yet is more practical and certain looks to be more of a family choice of car.
The small car has a 660 cc three cylinder turbo charged engine and automatic gearbox which will take you to fifty miles an hour in 11.2 seconds and has a top speed of nearly ninety miles an hour, which for a car of this size is quite exceptional. Under the bonnet there is no engine, it is mounted just ahead of the rear axle which enables the inside to be very spacious and gives the car very good handling qualities.
The car has been on sale in Japan and has received some very good reviews, which has prompted the company to consider selling the car in other countries, one such country is the UK, where Mitsubishi are conducting research into its feasibility.
