The future Subaru FT-86 sports car has been caught testing again, this time in Death Valley. And, thankfully, new spy shots always come with new details so every shot we can get is well worth investigation. Turns out, the future Subaru sports car will be powered by a turbocharged 2.5-liter engine, a variation of the engine used in the Impreza WRX STI, and not the naturally aspirated 2.0-liter flat four engine previously reported. The engine will still produce 260hp which is much more powerful than its Toyota sibling that will only deliver 200 HP. Both models, however, will be offered with a six-speed manual gearbox. As for its design language, it is rumored that the Subaru sports coupe will take its inspiration from the hatchback, in particular at the front end, but with a more aggressive touch. Both cars will be individualized with their own bumpers, front grilles, and wheels, but they will, however, share similar body panels. When it does go on sale, prices will range from $30k to $40k. .
12 comments: More details on Subaru’s FT-86 sports car I like the decent and elegance of the Subaru. Plus, it offer a better fuel economy vehicle. And I was impressed with figure performance of the car.
 I really don’t like the styling of this car. The exterior seems to be bloat loaded and the tyres are not that aggressive. However, it’s a good thing that the pricing of the car is kind of cheaper!
 Subaru is my favorite sportscar! I really love the sporty and luxurious styling of this car. However, the speed performance of the car is not impressive for a turbocharged engine. I was expecting for a higher output than 200+ hp.
 I wonder why they are making a car that was based from Toyota? I can’t find any reason to buy this car aside from its affordable. I was impressed with the Impreza but not on this car.
 hmm. Is this the official look of the car? Why they are not hiding this car behind camouflage. Just like what I’ve though this car was based from the Toyota FT-86. The performance is not that impressive but I guess we can expect a sportier look..
 hmm. Im not really a fan of this model .Although I find to be powerful with its six-speed manual gearbox! I want them to improved the look of this version.
 well, it seems that this car would be more powerful with its all-wheel-drive version- the Toyota FT-86. The only car that I was impressed among Subaru production is the Impreza!
 Subaru? But Toyota has FT-86 also right? And the release of the FT-86 was postponed for 4 times! Between the two who has the better engine?
 well if they going to release the FT-86 on 2013 and there is no doubt the it wont sell well on the market.. consumers will surely get an alternative on the FT-86... CR-Z is one of the good example.
