On board, the IS F benefits from new dark sliver fibre inserts, and a change of contrasting stitching for the leather upholstery from white to blue. A revised front seat design offers improved driver support, and a new steering wheel improves grip and feel.

A new driver’s instrument design repositions the tachometer, speedometer and shift indicator within the binnacle for instant legibility and maximum clarity during high speed driving. The large, centrally positioned tachometer incorporates a rev indicator to help enhance gear shift operation characteristics. The rev indicator illuminates in three steps –at 5000 rpm, at 5500 rpm and at 6200-6550 rpm, depending on the gear step.

The specification of this new Lexus is really cool. I like the whole package of the car, especially the interior accessories. The speed performance is definitely great because of the enhance gear of the car.

@Juan9994, the 8:18 was recorded on a 2008 model; another magazine got 8:03, and the fastest so far recorded in the updated 2010 model, which includes suspension and drivetrain updates, is 7:57.

The M3 may beat the IS-F in the 0-100 dicipline by a margine, because it’s ligther and has a manual transmission. The C63 AMG isn’t really that great a car. It’s only advantage over the IS-F and the M3 is it’s superior power, but that power also have to be put on the road and that’s where the merc fails.
Calling the IS-F a super corolla is plain ingorant. The IS-F has nothing in common with the Corolla, except that it comes from the same company. The original IS series, in Japan known as Toyota Altezza were ment as a smaller version of the JDM Toyota Mark II. A highpowered RWD saloon made since the late 60s and succeted by the Mark X in 2004. Todays IS series, including the IS-F is an evolution of that.

the time is actually 8:18.... check it out

@Juan9994, where have you been since 2008? Nobody likes this car and you never see them? The IS-F sells more than the M3 sedan (which has been discontinued due to slow sales) and the C63 combined. With the 2010 mechanical updates, the current IS-F (or at least the American version) laps the Nurburgring in 7:57, beaten only by the Panamera turbo, which is twice its price. It also offers a much higher reliability rating than any other car in its class.

Lexus is still at this???... I am entirely surprised. WE ALL KNOW THAT THE M3 AND C63 ARE MUCH BETTER THAN THIS SUPER COROLLA... I would for everyone to write down how many IS-Fs they have seen and then M3s... NOBODY LIKES THIS CAR.....

Less ponies? Looks like BMW and Mercedes just pulled that much more ahead of Lexus. Again.

Wouldn’t suprise me. For the last few years Toyota’s strategy for Europe has been all about fuel efficiency and emissions, at the expence of performance . That said, these numbers look strange to me. Power is Torque*RPM. The torque is the same and peaking at the same rpm, yet power is decreased, but peaking at a higher rpm. If that is true, the torque curve would look very interesting, to say the least.

Are these figures inaccurate or are they for a European market or something? The American-spec version got mechanical updates for 2010 that dropped its 0-60 mph time to 4.1 seconds, and the 2011 updates for the American market are purely cosmetic.

Same torque at the same rpm, but less horsepower at higher rpm? Doesn’t really add up. And if it’s true, i’m disappointed. Even more so because of the fact, that BMW is increasing the displacement, while Mercedes introduced twin turbo’s to increase the horsepower on the M3 and C63 AMG
