More details on the future Opel Astra Sports Coupe

Opel will expand the current Astra range with a new coupe version set to be launched at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show. It will join the current five-door model and the just launched Astra Sports Tourer . The future coupe version will come with a separate, more radical design.

It will feature a wider track, a filigree roof structure with a narrow C-pillar, more pronounced rear wheel arches, and the windscreen will be extended from a large glass roof up to a B-pillar.

Under the hood there will be the same engine line-up as in the five-door version: a 1.4-liter turbo, a 1.6-liter, 2.0 gasoline engine, and a 1.7-liter turbo-diesel. Opel will also offer a GSI version that will deliver around 210 HP and will compete with models like Volkswagen Golf GTI . An OPC version will get a 2-liter turbo four-cylinder producing 240 hp that will be launched at a later date. The sprint from 0 to 60 mph will be made in the 8 second area and the top speed will be somewhere around 150 mph.

I haven’t heard any news for the Opel. The design of the car is not that impressive and I think the aerodynamic kit is appealing. However, the figure performance is great!

Well, I have to say that I’m impressed with the detailing of the car. The figure performance of the car and it offer a better fuel economy! I wonder if the car makes into production.

I wonder what happen to this production. BTW, I’m not impressed with the performance oft this car and talking about on how it look, well, its not that impressive.

I haven’t heard any production on this car manufacturer..Are they still existing? However, I bet this concept car would be awesome since it was based for the VW Golf.

Its a nice car. Opel is a cool company. But I think its missing some punch though. Opel offers a two year warranty but can hit up to six years. And a twelve year anti corrosion warranty is being offer on all models.

looks like a nimble version of porsche panamera and vantage.

what a lovely car, opel should place a high powered engine here..

I’m impressed with the design.. it looks aggressive and sporter than the golf GTI.

impressive design. I like the way they look in to the futuristic look of the car.
