More details on the future Porsche Cayman Clubsport

The first rumors on a high-performance version for the Porsche Cayman appeared in 2009, but today we can finally offer you more details on the future sports car.

Called the Clubsport, the new version Cayman will be powered by the same 3.4 liter flat six engine only tricked to deliver between 320 and 330 HP. Engineers will also focus on reducing the car’s total weight as much as possible, most likely by applying the same treatment as with the Boxster Spyder . All of this will allow the Clubsport to make the 0-60 mph sprint in less than five seconds and reach a top speed of 155 mph.

Next to the improved engine, the future Cayman Clubsport will also offer a sport suspension, a new brake system, a lower center of gravity, and Porsche’s latest PDK double-clutch gearbox. The base version will come equipped with the Sports Chrono package, while the high performance version will get an aerodynamic package.

Price will be in the $60K area (at the current exchange rates).

Well, its not really hard to reduced the weight of the car. The best solution is that change the engine. BTW, there are a lot of things that needs to expect in this car since it was based from the Boxster and the powerful 911.

The good news is Porsche has successfully reduced the weight of the Cayman and it helped to boost the power of the car up to 10 more horsepower. Now, It has an impressive figure performance.

it looks good, reliable and promising.

looks like it has the same performance of the rendered baby porsche..

Is this the last “Huzzah” before the new chassis shared with Audi/VW? Sounds tempting, but can’t exactly carry the kids in iT.

Wonderful car and I was surprised because I didn’t expect a packing 303 hp, up from 295 hp, and equipped with Porsche’s active stability management system, a 10mm suspension drop, blacked-out wheels and a two-tone paint scheme aping the 911 GT3.

nice it’s top speed is very reasonable for it’s boxer v6 engine. with that speen, It doesn’t bother me at all because the clubsports is meant to be driven fun and Eco-friendly.
