Don’t plan on it due to problems with the current American-spec M5 vehicle leaving consumers with a "not-so-M experience.”Car Magazine reports that American manual M5 drivers "can not fully switch out the DSC stability system" due to the fact that the manual version lacks "computer control for the opening and closing of the clutch plates." Bmw Engineers had to do this in order to eliminate "axle tramp under hard take-offs."
The new M5 was meant to be experienced with the SMG- 7 speed and was built around it. Next time maybe BMW shouldn’t listen to consumers demand for a manual-transmission – or actual plan for it in the developmental phase of the car.
