The Audi R8->ke1440 proved its supremacy once again, as an R8 tuned by MTM was the fastest car around the Motordrome Short Course during the 2013 Tuner Grand Prix. With Florian Gruber, MTM->ke1730's chief racer and test driver, the MTM R8 proved to be the fastest car around the 2.6 km (1.6-mile) track.

There were 66 entries in the challenge, but none of them managed to beat MTM R8's time of 1:06.695. The R8 was equipped with a height-adjustable chassis, three-part BBS rims with center-mount locks and a set of Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires.

At the same event, Florian Gruber recorded a best time of 1:14.0 at the wheel of the MTM A1 quattro. The next challenge for MTM will be at the Slovakia Ring, near the capital Bratislava, on June 8th theought 9th, 2013. We’ll see if it has equally awesome results.

Audi R8 by MTM

The car raced at the 2013 Tuner Grand Prix was based on an Audi R8 V10. The tuner remapped the ECU and installed a new stainless-steel sports exhaust system. As a result, the R8 now delivers a total of 606 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and a peak torque of 413 pound-feet. It sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds and top speed leaps up to an incredible 200 mph.

For the exterior, the tuner installed a new front spoiler lip, side skirts and rear spoiler.
