In a recent interview, Horacio Pagani offered new details on the future C9 supercar->ke3170. According to him the future Pagani is the same as the Bugatti Veyron->ke1112 as far as price and collectibility go, but at the same time the two models can't be considered competitors because, even though they are sold to similar customers, they are two very different cars.

He also said that the "C9 is a completely new car, designed from the ground up, so it doesn't share anything in common with the Zonda. We have started work on this project since as early as 2003 and the final production version will be released at the end of this year. Naturally, we hope it will have at a similar success as the Pagani Zonda."

Under the hood there will be a completely new V12 specially created for the C9. The engine will be mated to a new transmission with a single clutch.

And even if he didn't offer up the name for the car he did confirm that it will have an appropriate meaning (Zonda->ke942 is a type of wind from the Argentinean Andes mountains).
