Its got little to do with Aerodynamics or Global warming. The Nissan Cube is coming to the U.S early next year. And thats official. Manufacturers have adopted the cube shape as it offers maximum volume to surface area ratio. The big question now, is how this Cube will perform in the crowded, yet competitive subcompact car-hungry market.

After years of uncertainty, Nissan has decided to bring the Cube to the U.S. Reports suggest the cube will receive a facelift before its unveiling early next year.

The cube will probably be propelled by a 1.8 liter petrol engine producing 90 horse power. Front wheels will be powered by the engine and electric-assist driving the rear (e-4WD). It has an estimated top speed of 85 mph(maybe an aerodynamics kit will follow to make it go faster?). The fuel consumption is estimated between 37 and 40 mpg.

Dimension wise, the car is shorter than the Mazda Miata and this is my favorite- it has more interior space than a Mercedes S-Class!.

Nissan believes the Cube is more "gender neutral" than the Scion and will equally appeal to both genders. Nothing about the pricing is known, but the car does look tempting.
