Optimus Prime is fast becoming the world’s most famous robot celebrity. If the Autobot’s starring role in Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen didn’t get him enough attention, his guest appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman certainly did.
The leader of the intergalactic robots is slowly becoming a household name and enthusiasts are starting to come out of the woodwork. Take this 1997 Peterbilt 379 truck that is being sold on Ebay by a man who we can only imagine is a Transformers fanatic. The truck comes complete with the exact same design elements Optimus Prime has in the movie. Painted in the same red and blue color scheme, the truck also has the same alternating red and blue flames painted on its body.
Continued after the jump.
While we didn’t see the interior of the truck in the movie that is Optimus Prime, this one spared no expense in keeping with the theme of his creation by adding the Autobot insignia prominently displayed in the middle of the steering wheel.
Unfortunately, this truck doesn’t transform into a 40-foot robot. Nevertheless, the lucky individual who scores the winning bid will not only be the envy of his peers, but he’ll also have a truck that will undoubtedly catch the attention of anyone who sees it out on the road.
Bidding for this pretty cool Optimus Prime replica truck is now going at $25,100 with a little over eight days left before the bidding closes.
If you’re interested – and not to mention have enough garage space – then we implore you to put your bids in. Rest assured; it should make for a nice vehicle to take out on the highway.
If your maximum budget has been reached, too bad. At least you can settle for watching Prime’s guest appearance on the Late Show, which we’re guaranteeing, is good for a few laughs.
