By the combination of a diesel engine with an electric engine, the fuel consumption is improved with 30%. This means that the new 308 Diesel-Hybrid Concept will have a fuel consumption of only 3.4 liters per 100 kilometers (or 69mpg). The CO2 emission will be 90 gram per kilometer.
The 1.6 litres turbo diesel engine will deliver 109 hp and a peak torque of 260 Nm. It will work in conjunction with a 22hp electric engine.
The new Concept is a preview version on a hybrid sedan that will be unveiled in 2010.
