Porsche 911 GT2 to be unveiled in Frankfurt

Although Porsche has just unveil the 911 Turbo Convertible, the company will unveil a new model in September, at Frankfurt motor Show. For the UK market, the GT2 will be priced around £120,000 when it will go on sale in early 2008.

The GT2 will be powered by a 3.6-litre boxer engine with an output of 525 hp and with a curb weight of 1485kg the twin-turbo monster will be the first production 911 to top the 200mph mark.

The GT2 should hit 60mph in around 4.5seconds - that’s a little slower than the all-paw Turbo (3.9seconds) because of its rear-drive layout. But the GT2’s in-gear acceleration will leave even the unfeasibly quick Turbo for dead.
